Genshen are an ARIA-nominated Australian independent synth-pop group who were catapulted to national recognition during early 2003 through extensive television and radio exposure resulting from the success of their hit song "Nothing Quite Like This" taken from the bands debut EP "Someplace Else. They polled in the Top 5 of National Independent Charts and gained critical acclaim for their originality, unique sound and appealing quirky synthesiser-guitar based pop-rock style. Their video clips were also very popular being playlisted on national music channels MTV, RAGE and CHANNEL V. Genshen also performed live on national music television programs such as Network Ten's Pepsi Live and Video Hits. They have performed with the likes of Pete Murray, The Panics, Sarah Blasko, and 28 Days. Their live reputation earned them a performance spot at the prestigious Aus Music Week Showcase, Coca Cola Live and Local and the national festival Big Day Out.
