Greetings from the Gemstone Artist - with gem-hunting adventures, gem-cutting videos - and cutting and design how-to for both hobby and professional gem artists.
About Me:

The Gemstone Artist cuts colored gems of all varieties from every corner of the world, using a variety of techniques including cabochon, free-form carving, flat-faceting, and concave-faceting.

I enjoy teaching the craft almost as much as doing it, and gemstone optical design is a passion.

good day to u! i have an older rose gold ring, i barely found a mark on the inside (14), so faint, barely noticable, from wear i would guess, full inspection showed a definate fine file cut near the setting, and 14 stamped on the outside of band, stone is large faceted purple stone with red and blue fire. its not a mystic topaz, i know that for sure. a friend yrs ago had a ring (from her grandmother) with the same type of stone. any info, thanks in advance!!!

Thanks. I designed a camera bracket that attaches to the faceting equipment, bringing the stone into position for each shot and also controlling the background.

Very cool stuff, how did you get the stone in the exact spot after each facet?
