UFO Caught at Airport Control Tower September 16th 2011

I'm pretty sure it's a bouy, hooked to something caught on a line.. I seem to remember in the 1st JAWS Movie, they did something similar.. harpooned the shark, and it ended-up towing a Keg bouy behind it.

@01Alexsimps : I concur.. I've done this already, to extend the pins on a the stock ethershield, to allow plugging the protoshield above it, for additional circuitry. You basically end-up with a 'Taller' project, but it's better than the short-circuit caused by the RJ-45 socket's shell.

Not bad, but as someone (rudely) said, You can't really see past the LCD photo frames, and the bright backlight of the LCD will cause night blindness in total darkness.. I would've probably made the same, but not cutting the lens, just place the LCDs behind them. They're plenty bright enough.

I like the cabinet design! Volt & Amp meters, Variable across th +12 & -12 pins I imagine. I made one not quite as elaborate, just a plastic box on top with the posts to all voltages ( +3.3, +5, -5, +12V, -12) and a common GND post set.

@connordobie more than likely, different manufacturer.. the color means nothing.. note the mAH rating of the batteries, as Kip says.
One downside to Kip's hack, is 89% of the time, yes, it is the batteries are too 'Cooked' to hold a charge, but that other 11%, the circuitry itself is cooked.

Adding water may not always work.. I've run into a few gel cells that actually develop the same problem as wet-cell sulfuric acid batteries, where it creates a buildup of the electrolyte chemical on the plates. (similar to sulfide build-up on car battery plates.)
