Pat is a contemporary jazz musician. Her musical sensibilities are shaped by deeply orchestrated "seduction" expertly layered over the funk, hip hop, soul and latin grooves of smooth jazz. She is currently the synthesizer keyboardist for UTOPIAN DREAMS.Beginning with the serious study of classical music theory, live stage performances and participating in classical piano competitions at age 7, Patricia would develop a lifelong love for performing.
While at Sonoma State University in California, Patricia became involved with the music department's jazz courses and workshops. She paid her dues with playing bass in many project performances, nailing the "standards" and jamming with breakout trios. She went on to play bass with regional favorites, recording sessions and performances.
In 1993, she produced and booked her own smooth jazz quintet for 6 years ending up in the corporate, winery, and festival circuit with such San Francisco luminaries as Mark Levine and Ricardo Scales. With the recent purchase of her Korg M3 synth, Patricia is inspired by urban groove music and is exploring and talking to the creators of this musical stream. But smooth jazz, whether playing bass or synth will always be her first love.
Happy Birthday George...in tears of missing you ...but also the joy you brought...too soon gone...
