About this user

With a solid foundation in jazz and funk music and an eclectic plate of listening, Thomas Sienko is able to lay down a confident groove to just about anything you throw at him.

Thomas started drumming at the age of 18, but his late start didn't stop him from pursuing music. Under the tutelage of the finest local instructors, including Kelly Wallis and Randy Herbert, Thomas' knowledge and skills expanded at an impressive rate. He has received his BA in Jazz Performance from the University of Utah, where he continues to pursue a Masters Degree in Jazz Studies. He has spent extensive hours perfecting a light touch from studying the art of jazz, as well as a fat groove from studying funk and hip-hop. Thomas has also spent considerable time with latin, jazz, reggae, blues, rock, and pop.

Thomas performs actively with a wide variety of groups including academic jazz combos and big bands, pop artists, rock bands, and jazz groups. He has gigged in a wide variety of venues locally as well as out of state. He also has recording experience with drumset, djembe, and vibraphone.
