Born in 1957 in New York City, first generation American to Mary and Vincent Forras. Two brothers, David and Gary. Attended schools in NYC, Graduate of Bayside High School and Manhattan College. Major, Teacher Preparation, class of 1979. Worked jobs as Life Guard, Ski Instructor, and Marshall Arts Instructor. Achieved the rank of Black Belt in three styles, one of while attained black belt third Dan.

Worked in the aerospace business started by his father full time after graduation from college and took over operations in 1981. Founded Phoenix Group an international electronics distributor to the defense industry in 1985. Founded Aegis Electronics, a domestic electronics distributor in 1988. Increased the size and scope of the group worldwide in each and every year of his twenty plus years at the helm. Acquired and merged European high tech companies into the Phoenix Group. Chief Executive Officer in charge of liaison through personal visits to Phoenix partners throughout Europe and Asia. Key point person for various government projects involving group companies throughout the 1990's. Responsible for personal dealings with heads of industry worldwide until soon after his service on September 11th, 2001. Volunteer firefighter with South Salem Fire Department for 12 years. Baseball coach, Board Member of Lewisboro Little League Baseball. Responsible for lighting "The Field of Dreams" in that town along with his fellow board members. Board Member of the Boy Scouts of America. Active in all levels of community.

The Gear Up Foundation is dedicated to saving lives in rememberance of our fallen heroes and loved ones who were taken from us on September 11th, 2001.

In addition, we endeavor to help heal those brave souls who are still affected by 9-11 by involving them in our mission of bringing hope to their brother firefighters and children in need. We accomplish this through our donation of equipment and training to firefighters, fire prevention and safety education to children and by establishing and supporting on-going operations that protect our environment from fire which is being misused to clear and destroy our rainforests.

We will not stand idle in the face of any attacks by terrorist against our way of life nor will we allow environmental terrorists to strike at the beauty and splendor of nature. In addition, GEAR UP FOUNDATION is committed to support the touring of the Release of Souls Memorial, promoting tolerance and truth among all nations and people.
