This sounds like one of them interlude beats that you'd hear inbetween songs on a Pete Rock album. Reminds me of something from the Main Ingredient or Soul Survivor.

What an amazing song!! It's a damn shame barely anyone went out and supported this great album. The views are so low compared to some of the gawd awful trash that's seen on here. There's so much wrong with hip hop today, but Common is one of the few keeping it right! Salute the legend and Legend.

One error I noticed in your lyrics. Nas says "On Mayan calendar time", not "my calendar time"

Why tag "New 2011" beside the title? I think the first time I heard this song was back in 2004. It's misleading. I already see some worried about it being on his new album...lol.

Not feeling any of Cole's radio friendly joints. I understand there needs to be a few on the album, but for these radio/commercial songs he has lots of room to improve. They just seem to be missing something. Jigga saved this song.

@lilhardy9 , Alchemist is from Beverly Hills. But don't let where he's from fool you. He's put in all kinds of classic work with Mobb Deep, Dialated Peoples, Ghostface, Nas, Cormega, The Lox....etc. Look him up. One of the best doing it.

@TheTimhoward But I do agree that it was hypocritcal of Nas to sign with DefJam since he did bash them years prior. Nas has never been the most consistent in his thinking. He's flip flopped quite a bit throughout his career.
