I completely agree. I love unusual song choices, but at the same time it has to set the same feel or atmosphere as when you saw the given movie. I definitely see you are aware of it, so please keep it up. It's so much better than editors with no intentions of doing something special for once.

I've listened to the whole track, and I actually loved the bits before and after the part you actually used. They sound very distinctive, but at climax it all kind of fall back to being cliché. I agree it is too lyrical. Try being as alternative as possible next time, it really pays of in the end.
