Holman must be a genius. ..Know what it means writing those uncredibly difficult lines while not being interested? I don't care about the head..I care about the creativity displayed by the arranger and his trea...

This is a very good band! The original recording had Mel Lewis on drums and included arranging by Gerry Mulligan. The Kenton band was a swingin band in those years from 1950 to 1960

Farmer and Person played for the wonderful Clarke Boland band in Europe...Konitz was star soloist in the Kenton Band of the 50's Wonderful musicians! Not many like them today.....

It has never been a good idea playing jazz in these very noisy places where people only go to eat and talk. Musicians have to make a living so it always will be the same.

The all band is sounding together all the time!! I certainly don't like that style of arranging a tune. It sounds poor and monotonous to me. It seems this guy Walden likes to write this way according to some other things I heard from him. Don't tell me heś "modern" or "contemporary" I've heard ...

This very good piece sounds as written and arranged by Hooper himself...He's a very original musician and he deserves praise for keeping big band music alive..There are not many opportunities today for listening fine bands like this one...

Kenton produced so much good music during many years. I specially enjoyed the 1950-54 band. He had arrangers like Bill Russo and Bill Holman and players like Frank Rosolino, Buddy Childers, Stan Levy, George Roberts, Bob Burgess, Lee Konitz, Conte Candoli, It was a wonderful jazz band the best I'...

No big band sounded like the Kenton band 52-54 edition! Rosolino, Childer himself, Burgess, Russo, Stan Levy, Konitz, Bob Gioga, ....What a great players all of them...This composition belongs to the wonderful LP "Stan Kenton plays Bill Holman music" I think.

La legendaria Ellis hizo una interpretación inolvidable de esta pieza pero no se puede negar la originalidad de lo que hacen aquí Joao Bosco y los otros grandes músicos que participan, entre ellos Rubalcaba. Son cubano con ritmo brasileño..!Que bien!!!
