Judas Priest - Diamond and Rust - live 98 - tim ripper owens
Diamond & rust by ripper owens
I'll be damned, here comes your ghost again
But that's not unusual
It's just that the moon is full
And you decided ...
A serviceable version of a great song. Owens is a good singer, but with Halford gone, the gay leather crowd deserted the band, emasculating the fan base.

Blackmore has always been a genius - who is quite mad. This version actually makes a lot of sense. And with Gillan unable to get anywhere near those high notes anymore, having a female vocalist for this song maked much sense. I like it!

I saw her do this on the Showgirl tour- she is stunning, self effecing fun and a top live performer. She isnt the worlds greatest singer or dancer, but she is such a pro and she does eeverything so well that she beats the competition.

Greatest Guitar Solo Ever
I love this solo. Musical legend!
A fantastic reading of a great song. Prince kills it at rthe end, Jeff Lynnes voice suits the song perfectly, Petty holds it together -, oh, and you can see where Black sabbath got their "Killing Yourself to live" riff from ,and Chicago with "25or624".

A criticism of both is their lack of hits outside their fanbase. I would agree that Young enjoys the mantle of eccentric, Petty that of crafts...

Not a vintage version. The song requires a balance between harmony and kick ass guitar, this sounds a bit insipid.

Classic Joe Walsh, with his band Barnstorm. Kenny Passarelli is on bass and Joe Vitale is on drums.
There was a lot wrong with 70's rock, but this is the genre at its very best.Musicianship at its most inspired and JUST the right side of self indulgent excess.
