About Me:
Channel re-design finally kicked in today. I'm warming up to it...
(Jun 19, 2009):
Heads up y'all -- I now have a back-up channel, just in case something happens to this one (i.e. gets removed or suspended). Same URL, except there's a "2" at the end:
/user/garnetttribute2
I'll probably upload some videos there to spread things out a bit.
UPDATE #4 (Jan 27, 2009):
The ~Ubuntu~ mix has now been removed as well, due to a music rights claim by WMG, who's really been on a tear lately and deleting everything in sight.
Also, the KG-Calderon video has been removed as well, due to a copyright claim by 'Boston Celtics (Banner Seventeen)'... go figure. I guess it's bad publicity.
YouTube isn't fun anymore.
UPDATE #3 (Jan 26, 2009):
Now Warner Music Group (WMG) had my Kevin Garnett High School ~OG~ Mix removed. That's surprising, consider that the track I used (Scorponok, from Transformers) is a piece of movie score. Usually those don't generate the attention that mainstream songs do. But it seems like WMG has been cracking down like mad on YouTube videos lately. I've seen so many videos get removed or muted because of music rights claims.
I can mute the video, but that's an ugly compromise that I'm unwilling to make. Or, I can swap the audio, but the mix was set to the beat and flow of the original track. Swapping the audio weakens the mix, and I don't really want to do that either.
My ~Ubuntu~ Mix might be next. Heads up y'all.
UPDATE #2:
The ~Legacy~ mix has been removed as well. I ain't happy about this.
UPDATE #1:
Just in case anyone's wondering, two of my mixes -- ~Weapon X~ and ~Unfinished Business~ -- got removed due to a music rights claim by Universal Music Group. They have rights to the two songs I used (Akon's Locked Up and DMX's Who We Be).
What's interesting was that they had let me keep the ~Unfinished Business~ mix up on YouTube for quite a while, on the condition that they could put an ad on that video page, as well as monitor the stats.
Eight months and 60,000+ views later, they decided to crack down and have it removed.
There's nothing I can do, sorry y'all.

And you're welcome, sadly WMG is a pain in the ass when it comes to music.
