Music Projects
Experimental music -- I've been involved with it for over 18 years. Most are experiments in 12-tone/serial music and/or simply aleatoric. Having developed a serial music application for the mac in 1990 ("Evolution #9" [MacWorld Music & Sound Bible*]), I've had the opportunity to experiment with thousands of variations of tone rows and pitch classes; rhythm and dynamics interactions, directed and random. Previously all music produced by Evolution #9 existed only as MIDI files. With the advent of superior software synthesisers for computers, I am finally able to render many of these experiments in such a way as to sound "real!" (finally!)
I also dabble in music mixture and collage, to borrow the term from art. Nearly all the projects are computer/synth based. Some will be improvisational work on guitar collaged with other aspects of synth/foley audio.
Recently I've been extending my experiments into video post. I am very interested in the phenomena of synchronicity and audio-video interactivity.
