Being futurewise is more than just making the right personal decisions like buying local and riding the bus. It's about the team effort of our communities to protect what matters.

Washington State has beautiful landscapes and great cities and towns. To give a legacy to our children and grandchildren, we need to protect our rivers, lakes, and streams; save our local farms and habitat; and build great, healthy communities.

Futurewise is Washington State's premiere statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to passing and enforcing local and state smart growth policies. By doing the research, training grassroots activists, building coalitions, providing technical assistance to local planners, and holding government accountable, Futurewise has a stronger track record at building great, healthy communities and protecting more water, farms, forests, and habitat than any other state organization.

Whether it's protecting the glaciers on Mount Rainier, the orcas in Puget Sound, or the local farms that grow and harvest your dinner, Futurewise works for you and future generations.
