This was probably already done by Ms. Dally but I know that NARA is working towards electronic records archives and catologing and working with storing electronic data, maybe looking into what they do will give some insight into this issue.

I love the Pinky video. It is good to see thoughtful criticism of our fundamental assumptions... and its funny, so it takes out the sting a bit. I suspect as time progresses more people will feel comfortable making similar comments on the previously unassailable authority of institutions like museums - shall we embrace that or feel threatened???
