My lessons are set up to feel like one is on the bandstand. I want the student to feel a little pressure which enhances excitement and motivation. From the get- go while warming up with scales he/she is "improvising" in the world of "clave". I believe rhythm is just as important as harmony. We develop your voice as your playing to various beats and building your musical palette. This also involves understanding the energy that passes through the body and how to "be one with it". I've taught well over seventy people in the Bay area with this technique that I continually fine-tune each and every day.
