A FACT that most people don't know about...

Homosexual activists used bullying and coercion tactics to take over the American Psychiatric Association (APA) in 1973. They started getting access by infiltrating conventions and ended by getting psychiatrist's licenses pulled for offering reparative therapy. They bullied the APA into removing homosexuality from the DSMs list of disorders in 1973. Most mainstream scientific and medical orgs (like the American Association of Pediatrics, as just one example) when asked about issues dealing with homosexuality, simply models their policies, statements, and decisions from what the APA puts forth. How could the APA be a credible org or source at all on this issue when they let homosexual activists decide the issue for them by means of threats, bullying, and coercion, and completely devoid of anything scientifically objective? (Rhetorical) If anybody wants more details on this, feel free to message me.
About Me:

Forget about me, I want to clear a couple things up, and that is the silliness of people carelessly and irresponsibly throwing around the words 'bigot' and 'homophobe' at others....

The words 'bigot' and 'bigotry' are two of the most overused and misused terms in current sociopolitical discourse. Properly speaking, a bigot is someone so suffused with a sense of their own rightness and righteousness, that they are intolerant of other people's freedom of expression. That, of course, is a perfect description of the attitudes and practices of much of the "progressive" liberal-left and the homosexualists within most of their discourse. Truth cannot be discredited or disproven, therefore the argument is reduced to attempts to discredit the source instead.

Even though they won't admit it, this occurs because they believe themselves to be both morally and intellectually superior, they have appropriated or framed the word by changing its usage to mean expressing, even just holding, different opinions to them. They are not merely invincibly self-righteous, but reflexively self-referential. In their subconscious minds,' bigotry' means thinking differently than them.

It is their tactical device throughout, continuously and repetitiously aimed at dissenters and other critics as "bigots." Their language is purposefully crude to enhance that idea. Most may not even realize it, but it's much like the "big lie" theory developed in the 1920s and 1930s by the Nazis, the constant repetition of this eventually has the desired psychological effect on masses of people.

The sick joke in all this is that they use flowery words like 'diversity, 'love,' 'equality,' and 'tolerance' to justify their own attempts to expunge the only form of diversity and tolerance that is actually worthwhile to them - i.e. diversity of ONLY their thoughts and beliefs - and without which all other forms of diversity are meaningless. It is a house of cards that will fall down some day. What will replace it remains to be seen.

The "homophobe = closet homosexual" claim is one of their oldest framing shame tactics in the book. This is a shame tactic that was spelled out by the homosexual activists in "After the Ball," a book which essentially is the leaders of the homosexual activists' 'manifesto,' which outlines their strategies of shame and propaganda tactics in order to push their agenda. These tactics were perpetuated and handed down to their community through media and word of mouth. It follows the same Marxist/Saul Alinsky ideology. As you can see they use this particular tactic reflexively now like programmed robots with one collective brainwashed mindset.

This particular book (After the Ball) was published in 1989. Not too long after it was published, is when homosexual activism propelled into this overly-aggressive and vehement " media/academia infiltrate to indoctrinate" juggernaut we see today.

The word "homophobe"...it is an extremely hypocritical attempt to insult someone in this fashion...insinuating that someone has "latent homosexual tendencies" is on par with calling someone a "fag." If one believes homosexuality is a good thing, then why would they use it to insult ? Most people (both religious and non-religious) advocate kindness towards homosexuals, despite the fact that they disagree with homosexuality in principle.

Again, this comes down to framing...the term 'homophobia' is a social construct invented by homosexual activists and is often being used inaccurately to describe any person who objects to homosexual behavior on either moral, psychological, or medical grounds. Technically the terms actually denotes a person who has a phobia — or irrational fear — of homosexuality. Principled disagreement, therefore, cannot be labeled 'homophobia.' It is as ridiculous as thinking pro-lifers secretly urge to kill babies, or thinking firefighters secretly urge to burn people or commit arson, or thinking animal rights advocates secretly urge to beat up and abuse their pets behind closed doors when they get home.

The terms ''homophobia'' and ''homophobic'' have been tactically used by homosexual activists and their sympathizers to blur the difference between those who actively fear and loathe homosexuals, and those who merely disapprove of homosexuality. The re-framing of the meaning and the blurring is deliberate, done in order to shame the latter into abandoning their disapproval. Tactics like these are used when truth cannot be used to validate their behaviors. So don't fall for it...stay true to your principled values and beliefs.

funk7000, I came across the following statement some time ago: "Gay activism, not scientific evidence, has influenced nation mental health organizations regarding homosexuality. By a vote of 5,854 to 3,810, the American Psychiatric Association eliminated homosexuality as a diagnostic category from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) in 1973, making it the first time in the history of healthcare that a diagnosis was decided by popular vote rather than by scientific evidence. -- A. Dean Byrd, PhD, MPH (2008) Mormons and Homosexuality, p. 13"

Does this jive with what you've researched and reported on the APA's actions in 1973?

Those who identify as gay seem to be awfully picky with terms and logic. Like if you say "sexual preference" instead of "sexual orientation", or if you say "lifestyle" and "agenda"...yet some of them say those very things themselves.

And the fact that people don't get to say "faggot", "dyke", "tranny", "queer", "flamer", "gayness", or even "homo" in many places with impunity is odd, considering that while many of the self-proclaimed "gays" object to those terms, many of the others like to use them. Apparently some of them are more sensitive than others. I suppose the NBA and so forth tries to protect the more sensitive ones. It's a crock how strict PC is.

Since its founding, AGLP starting with a membership of over 600 psychiatrists, has been active in helping to shape the dramatic conceptual shift in the cultural understanding and significance of homosexual behavior within psychiatry and within society. With the support of AGLP members, the APA has issued position statements supporting same sex unions and the adoption and co-parenting of children by same sex couples (http://www.care2.com/causes/apa-unanimously-supports-gay-marriage.html), as well as a position statement opposing any kind of therapy to help people overcome same sex attraction as "unethical." (http://www.citizenlink.com/2011/07/27/therapy-for-unwanted-homosexuality-%E2%80%93-part-2/). Which begs the question...why is what's supposed to be a neutral scientific organization involved in socio-political activism at all?

At the 1978 annual APA (American Psychiatric Association) meeting, a formal structure was adopted for the Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Caucus of the American Psychiatric Association, which is now named the Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists (AGLP). In 1978, an official APA Task Force on Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Issues was established, which was given formal status as a standing committee in 1981. The following year the Assembly, APA's legislative branch, approved adding elected representatives from a group initially designated as the Caucus of Homosexually Identified Psychiatrists, and later renamed the Caucus of Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual psychiatrists. The Caucus is still active in the APA Assembly...

What that means in other words is that someone could call themselves "straight" and still say or do or wear etc. something that could potentially be considered "gay" by some, whether it's intentional or not. And someone can call themselves "gay" but still express heterosexual sentiments or acts. This is why there's a problem, because one's actions may not go in line with what they're calling themselves. Prison rapists are doing something blatantly homosexual yet they don't consider themselves as such and a lot of folks try to justify calling them straight anyway. I hear those who say "Being married to someone of the opposite gender doesn't make you straight"...I say okay well tell us what does. And then there's those that say "Having a same sex encounter doesn't make you gay." Again I say, what does? What's the point of calling yourself something if you're not going to act like it?

You're right about those who use "closet case" or some dumb Shakespeare quote as a response to comments they don't like...it seems to show that they must believe we're capable of becoming attracted to the same gender, which contradicts their idea that you're 'born that way' - cause if we never did any criticizing, they'd be calling us straight. If they truly believed you don't become it, then our comments or obsession shouldn't matter. Many think 'gay and straight' is like black and white, ignoring the problems with that. Color is only interpreted one way, whereas sexuality is rather vague and thus interpreted many ways. One is more about a trait, the other involves behaviors and expressions that anyone could randomly decide to do.

Thanks. I am deleting some posts from my wall though because I don't want it to seem like there's only one topic being mentioned on it, though I saved them....I may have more to say here in later weeks.

Pre-natal (in-womb) influence for homosexuality? Nope, not that either. The 'Journal of Evolution and Human Behavior' published a paper exploring the idea that certain alleles increase the likelihood of homosexuality by blocking the effect of androgens during fetal development seeking a biological justification for homosexuality. It was proven INVALID, January 2009...

It's not that I want to have to discuss it, but I've seen enough that makes me say, okay that's it. Political correctness is strict and dominating all over. It causes many to be dishonest for fear of having something to lose, but allows the pro-lgbt crowd to run their mouths as much as possible, as they have impunity. I don't see lgbt as being sympathetic like they're made out to be. There's a lot of attitude and arrogance on their part...they want homosexuality to be considered normal if not superior.

Many good points made on this issue. Nice to see someone do a good job of refuting the claims made by those in the lgbt movement. Many ask "why be obsessed w/ gays?" But that's only ever asked to those who oppose homosexuality. It's never asked to those who are obsessed with supporting it, like Leno, Jon Stewart, Kathy Griffin, etc. All these celebs are just part of what's pushing the issue, and forcing us to take a position and comment on it as we do. Strangely, despite that less than 5% of the population calls themselves gay, and that I haven't had to meet many of them in person, it's arguably the #1 topic of society and is commonly brought up, especially here on youtube.
