'the lady' (!!!!!) is Sally James - an icon of British TV. Famous for among other things her sense of humour and a very fond memory for young men of an impressionable age (and university students) who watched this programme even though they were about 10 years older than the target audience.

No problem with them saying 'we' but the way Gary Herbert commentates as if he is actually coxing the boat comes across as a pathetic attempt to sound as if he's contributing to the efforts of the crew.

It's embarrassing and I usually watch the races he commentates on with the sound turned down...

Never particularly liked Allison but admire him a whole lot more after seeing this. Honest, fair, witty, knowledgeable, open....makes today's punditry look even more rubbish

Well I'm not a teenager and I think they're brilliant ....to me, a good book is a good book and the Mortal Engines quartet and the new Fever Crumb series are superb

Kenneth Branagh is a brilliant actor and director but completely unsuited to doing the voices for this. (For those interested, you can buy this on Amazon)

Hope no-one is deterred from reading the books which are quite brilliant.

Also hope Peter Jackson succeeds in making this into a decent film
