I'm not sure why, but these official demos make the pedals sound like absolutely ass compared to how they really sound. I love them to death, but wow, wouldn't buy one after watching one of these.

Do people not realize that a heavily distorted guitar sound is ALREADY compressed to all hell, as is the nature of it? /sigh

Anyway, yeah these pickups sound like shit. I've never liked EMGs for anything but ultra high gain.

Highly underrated guitar -- the stock pickups are *fantastic* for being stock and MightyMite. I don't think they even sell them separately. I own several very nice, very expensive instruments and I've always hung onto this one with nothing but a pair of GFS pups added. The tuners are *excellent*.

@theperfectguitar Would you say that this situation would improve (a lot?) if the two tens were replaced with a 2x12 cab?

Even purchasing the Jonas Brothers edition is a pretty stupid move in my opinion, what with the encouraging them to even have such a thing in the first place... but in all fairness, it does sound good (of course it does.

In the end, though... not nearly as good as the much cheaper one. Those MM ...

@sbosuna I think they're sort of lumping in a lot of currently trendy hotrod mods into being a "modern" thing.

@upnorthbacon Just to throw in my two cents... I own the modern player tele+. I really like it, but the pickups left a lot to be desired (replaced lately with GFS liverpool, lipstick and fatbody). Style of tone aside, the marauder seems a bit more "complete" out of the box.

@oopsbabyhung4 I'd say that *no* touchscreen is good for heavy writing (I'm a writer as well). Their are cases out there for this, though, that have keyboards built in. I don't have the link, but it was only ~$40.
