About Fruitcake Jam
This channel is dedicated to my late father, Roger Koh 1955-2009.
My late father was a music arranger/song-writer.
I never realized how difficult it was for him to use his love for music, to feed the family. He did it anyway. As a performer, he had the time of his life performing on glamorous stage, to the pubs along the streets of Singapore.
I grew up listening to everything and anything he listened to. I grew up accustomed to his lifestyle. There were so many things I never understood when I was young, only to realize as I got older.
He never wanted me to be a musician in this country because he knew it will never be regarded as an occupation. I know he wouldn't stop me if I had pursued it.
Dad, I just want you to know I still got a little music in me. Not quite like you, but maybe, a part of you still lives in me.
