As she wrote, she didn't stop the wasp attack, but only treated the injured spider. The wasp wants its prey, and attacks on interfering humans have been reported. Likely, the wasp was killed by the person who stopped the attack.

These wasps are males. You can tell by the straight antennae. Females have coiled ones. Really. And males don't have stingers. But the females sometimes feed on these blossoms, too.
