Finally got out kayak fishing yesterday on Friday at Honeymoon. Even took vacation from work just to go. The weather was so nice, had the best tide, and most importantly low winds. But soon found out that today was just not our day. Topwater didn't produce nothing, not even one hit! Ended up fishing the ledges and ended up with some tiny dinky trouts :( This is the 2nd time that Honeymoon has let me down. Not gonna come back till the spring or summer. Even fishing the highest tide, the water was still very shallow. Only like 1' - 2'! Weedon is the better place and I hope to get out there later this month or the next. Weedon has never let me down for trout action.

Well, my brother and me decided to try some night fishing which we hadn't done in months due to wading and kayaking. Got to Sand Key at about midnight and were one the fish..... even though they were only about 10" they were damn plentiful. Easily between my brother and me we got 50+ lots of fun. Fished for like 3 hours and left them biting.

Boy! Today's opening trout season sure was a bust. We showed up at 6:20am to our fishing spot. Trying to beat everyone else there only to find that there was already a guy waiting by our spot already. To make it worse, he out fished us easily with live bait on a cork. I was able to land a 19" on topwater early on by that was the only action for our sad sad 3 hour day. I f**ken knew we should have taken the kayaks out but my older brother is always to damn lazy.
