@SFuNk24 I agree w/ U I like his playing in the trio format. IMO his solo playing is A LOT OF NOTES, but few are memorable. KJ is obviously a great musician. I consider him masterful, not a "Master". As U know there's a big difference. He really, xcept 4 his behavior has never changed music, he ha...

@fescolfaro I don't understand "Sex floats around the top of the lake, as do most." I know what sex is, and a lake,
& float, but I don't understand what U mean. I think it's very deep. Could U explain more?

@bazzatt1 Oh, just one more thing I thought you & UR librarian should know; for decades American Jazz artists have been treated like "Royalty" throughout Europe & Scandinavian countries. In fact many moved there to escape prejudice in their own country.

@jazzlover06 Rise above what? KJ is a great artist. IMO he's overrated. That's not important. He doesn't just play he has a BS act. If U like him great, Great artist make their mark with their talent. I've been to many KJ concerts. The playing(trio) is really good, in fact great. The solo concert...

IMO Oscar was a true musical giant. Had the pleasure of getting to know him BIT IN SF. A true gentleman, maybe not the greatest innovator (hard to do on piano) bot no one I've heard could out swing him. Heard him a a jazz festival in Napa CA. He'd just flown to SF & was driven to Napa. He was ab...

@Rodgebi I agree 100% w/ you. No one should go to his concerts. They will be nice and quiet. While KJ is good, he's IMO only masterful, but not a "Master or Giant". Not an innovator, never changed music (other than his behavior) never really influenced anyone. I would have headed for the ticket o...

Hi Teddy,
Finally got some time to hear you! Awesome. Wes was a favorite of mine. I'm sure he would have liked this as much as I do. Keep up the GOOD work.
Best regards,

@hirgons I agree. As Andre Previn said" When you play that many notes, some of them have to be good". I'm not faulting KJ. We all grow older. If you ignore the "Theater" that has been a big part of his career, he's just out of ideas. He does much better in the trio (IMO). But it's over. KJ should...
