About this user

Yoann Fréget has been singing since his childhood. At the age of fifteen, he discovered the Gospel music, attending a concert of "GOSPELIZE IT! MASS CHOIR", composed of 70 singers directed by Emmanuel Djob, a singer and composer from Cameroun, renown in Europe ("Black an' White Gospel singers", "By the Gospel River").

A few months later, he joined this Gospel Choir, where he stayed for three years, and quickly became a soloist, singing alone the song "Amazing Grace" at every concerts. He started then to gain a deeper understanding of the essence of African-American music. He clearly felt that the Power of this music comes from a tremendous Love, able to dissolve all the artificial barriers between human beings such as race, religion, or nationality.

Subsequently, Yoann sang with several Soul, Rythm' an' Blues and Gospel bands, among many :

« GOSPEL POUR 100 VOIX », singing as soloist, in this Gospel Choir of 100 singers, wich is the most famous one in Europe, directed by Jean Carpenter, in compagny of prestigious soloist as Linda Lee Hopkins,Tori Robinson, or Dominique Magloire. He perfomed then in the biggest French and European stages (Paris-Bercy, Zéniths ...) ; etc...

« TRIBUTE TO STEVIE WONDER », group that he created and where he is the lead singer;

« BRBB », a tribute to Otis Redding (singing as soloist);

« THE SOUL TRAVELLERS GOSPEL QUARTET » (soloist and chorist);

« GOSPEL SHAKERS », a male Gospel quintet (soloist and chorist);

« GOSPEL JAM », performing in duet with the sweet and authentic Gospel lady coming from Togo, Sabine Kouli ("Maezah" and "Soul Spirit") ;

Yoann also had the honor to perform as back vocalist for artists such as Stevie Wonder, Liz McComb, or Marianne Aya Omac (ex "Ginkobiloba"), in her latest album , "Be my witness".

Since 2006, Yoann has been creating and directing his own Gospel choir, « LE CHOEUR ENCHANTE ». He has also been invited to give Gospel Workshops in England, Italy, Germany, Austria and other countries.

Yoann graduated in 2008 from the University of Montpellier in the field of Music Therapy. He worked intensively with children suffering from autism and with teenagers having stammering, bringing them the joy of music and showing them a way to achieve self-confidence from within. He himself experimented that though singing, particularly Gospel music, and though meditation practise, he became no longer overwhelmed by the problem of stammering that he had since the age of three. It really helped him not only to gain much more fluency in his speech but above all to feel trustfull and peacefull in daily life.

In May 2010, Yoann returned from a five-month journey throughout India where he learned Indian music and its deep spiritual roots, which elevated his art to new heights.

From September to December 2010, Yoann has been touring Canada and United States, doing more than 50 concerts over a course of three months. He performed most of the time in solo, singing accapela, accompagnied by his loop station, or sometimes by the talented guitarist Omar Davis. He has been promoted then his first album, « SONGS FOR MOTHER EARTH ».

The main goal of his concerts is to share the Peace and Joy that he feels inside though music and meditation, revealing a treasure that we all have inside, which just needs to be awakened.
