Hope is the feeling that I am trying to convey. I wanted this to be a positive song. I am not much of a singer. However, I wrote this song about living a life of making mistakes and how it is never too late to start doing things right. My inspiration is that I have gone through recovery and it has been 15 yrs. since I have used any drugs or alcohol. Since my recovery I have gotten married and have had 3 wonderful children that I am grateful for. I want the best for them.
Rooster in the Night (written by Matthew James Hardin)
***Begin***
(Instrumental Intro)
I am a rooster crowing in the night I've been a rooster crowing in the night I am a rooster crowing in the night And I'm going to set things right
I am a rooster crowing in the night While other roosters are crowing in the dawn Mama did her best to love and raise me right Said it's not too late to undo what is wrong
I've caused hard times, burden and unrest Grown tired of wandering through the night crowing with each breath And though my days have bloomed into years beneath a troubled sky I'll find forgiveness through my willingness to give it one more try
Truth is all that is real. Love wraps our dreams up in steel My broken heart in time will heal. Overcome the fear to feel.
Tomorrow morning is a new sunrise Another day, another chance, another life Looking with my heart, today I realize Everything is going to be alright It will be alright
(Instrumental Break)
Truth is all that is real. Love wraps our dreams up in steel Broken hearts time will heal. Overcome the fear to feel
Every morning is a new sunrise Another day, another chance, another life Looking with my heart and not my eyes Everything is going to be alright It'll be alright
I am a rooster crowing in the night I am a rooster crowing in the night I am a rooster crowing in the night And I'm going to set things right
(Instrumental Outro)
***End***
I would love hear someone else sing, play and post this song as singing is difficult and I am limited in what I can do vocally. Here are the song lyrics with chords for anyone interested. (I Capo the 2nd fret and use a harmonica in the key of G to match my very limited vocal range): (Song Chords are put between [ brackets ] )
