"Every kid wants to be a fireman, garbage man, astronaut, or rock star. Since fire is really hot, garbage smells, and some of us have motion sickness. That leaves us only one choice of what to be when we grow up..." Enter Fox Chase Drive.

Fox Chase Drive was formed in spring of 2005 from the members of local Jackson, Mississippi bands. With members coming from backgrounds in punk, hardcore, and jam bands, there was no way of telling what sub-genre this rock group would fall into. After writing a few songs, the boys of FCD garnered their first show, at which they shared the stage with Pensacola-based pop group Arkitekt. They became an instant local crowd-pleaser, "a breath of fresh air" in a nothing but hardcore scene. FCD knew they had something special on their hands. Deciding that Jackson didn't have much to offer them, they decided to expand their horizons.

Fast-forward 3 months, several shows, and a line-up change, bringing us to what is now Fox Chase Drive: Will Hudgins on drums, Josh Lewis on lead guitar and vocals, Dustin Poole on guitar and vocals, David Tigrett on bass, and Jitin Chatlani on synth. FCD set out to play as many shows across the southeast as their high school and junior college schedules would allow. Loading up David's mom's suburban or Dustin's explorer, the boys of FCD played weekends, sleeping in their car or on the floor of other band member's houses. "A lot of the time, we would leave on Fridays. I missed so many fridays that they wouldn't let me graduate, and I had to go to summer school", jokes Josh. This tattered schedule continued through the winter and into the spring of 2006, with FCD sharing the stage with the likes of Jonezetta, As Cities Burn, Anathallo, The Awkward Romance, Tyler Read, and Far-Less. "We never exactly fit the lineup of the shows we played," says Will. Nevertheless, FCD always brought a fun, energetic, and passionate live show. They were barely scrapping by, but somehow always pulled out enough to break even.

The summer of 2006 would bring a turning point in the career of Fox Chase Drive. After playing a show with The Radio Fix and The Class of 98, FCD began talks of recording with The Class of 98 guitarist Nick Baumhardt. FCD gathered funds and traveled to Nashville on weekends to record a "legit" three-song demo. During these trips, the guys in FCD decided to get more serious about their band, devoting all their free time into practicing, song-writing, and promoting. David explains, "We don't know what we are going to do with our lives, but we all share a passion for music. We put all our energy and hearts into it because music is what we love."

Fox Chase Drive currently has many tour dates lined up for the fall and winter and is also looking for a label to call home.
