I did white mans on my own in 2002 in a 2001 3 door Rav 4 and I guarantee the road wasn't in that bad a condition. No wonder NPWS want to close all non essential tracks.

Not a bad effort, next time let your tires down to about 25 psi and pick your line more carefully. You'll notice a massive difference in traction. Also, the guy filming could be more helpful. "put your tire on that rock" won't help him if he can't see it.

Also, have to add that when I went through with my rav I had a tirfor 3 tonne hand winch with me and had to use it 4 times as I was on my own and had to pick the line with my head out the window most of the time. (stupid, I know, but it was fun and I didn't hurt myself, but I also don't recommend...

Have they been tested on sand?. With pneumatic tires, letting them down to just below half there recommended pressure will improve traction in sand. These hard tires wouldn't be too useful I'd think.. May be good on rock though.

Back in 1993 I used to drive up to Boarding house dam in my 1978 Mitsubishi Lancer coupe (2wd) along that track. Now, it's almost impassable on foot.
