"Folkstreamer" is the youtube channel for www.Folkstreams.net --- A National Preserve of Documentary Films about American Roots Cultures, streamed with essays about the traditions and film making. The site includes transcriptions, study and teaching guides, suggested readings, and links to the distributor and to related websites.

The goal of Folkstreams.net is to encourage the use, purchase, distribution, and archiving of important documentary films on folk and traditional cultures, and to acknowledge the contributions of the folklorists, filmmakers, foundations, and production companies who made the films.

The logo picture is of the storyteller Louise Anderson who said "To love someone, you have to know their stories." Louise Anderson (1921- 1994) is featured in "When My Work Is Over". http://www.folkstreams.net/...,95

the video on the top reminds me a russian village( russians using horses when they plow, work in the huge gardens by hands, prepare hey, and the stuff. Its a very hard way of living but you can be still happy. All the produce is fresh, tasty and natural, during summer break all the parents send the kids to the villages to stay at grandparents ( if they live in the countryside) . the best time of the year, cause you make bonfires everyday, go fishing, cooking on an open fire, go to the river, hanging out with friends ,help the grandparents. how i miss that time( my childhood)
