And when I say left vs. right brain, I mean using one hand to position the pointer with a mouse/trackball/trackpad while using the other to turn the Speedial. It's just unnatural.

Two items I'd REALLY like to see from Novation:

X-Station SL (Audio interface, synth, AND automap...epic)

Novation Navigator - Just a mouse, but with the Speed-Dial mounted on it. Maybe even use the scroll wheel as another speed-dial more suitable for faders/sliders. Left clicking and holding a button on a mouse is what makes it feel unnatural and not tactile. Something like this would make it so much more tactile and pleasant. Having the speed-dial on a controller breaks things up into left vs right brain and makes it feel unnatural...you don't tweak a knob on your equipment with both hands.

Hi FrenchBeatz,

It really is best to correspond with support queries through the support team email address as it is much more efficient for us to help that way and allows us to help with your problem more quickly.

To answer your question, we recommend a FireWire 400 only, non-combo (i.e. doesn't have USB or FireWire 800 ports aswell) card, with a Texas Instruments or VIA chipset from a known manufacturer such as Belkin, Lacie or SIIG. However, if you do have any further queries or problems, I encourage you to contact us through supportteam@focusrite.com.

Best regards,

Chris

Well, thank you for your help so far. My FW Active LED and my Locked led is on, and I've tried 2 FW cables, 3 different FW cards, 3 different PCs, and tried all the MixControl versions. I would appreciate if you quoted as precise as possible wich FW card I should get, which cable, and what version, etc. I've sent a whole lot of e-mails to supportteam. I got great answers every time, but it really seems that there's not much left to do to solve my problem.

Hi FrenchBeatz,

Sorry to hear you are experiencing problems with your Mix Control. Your problems sound like they are related to connection issues rather than the software. The best thing to do is email supportteam@focusrite.com with as much information about your problem and your system as possible. We can look at your problems in detail and help you get up and running as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Chris

When are you thinking about releasing a MixControl update that actually WORKS? First problem I got was audio dropouts. I managed to get another FireWire card, wich didn't help. I got a new pc now, and the problem is solved. Then I installed the 1.7 MixControl, and now a new problem occured. I don't get any sound out of my PRO40, and the FirmWare update fails everytime. I contacted the customer support, and got a hotfix. Now I accidentally uninstalled, MixControl 1.7, and needed to reinstall it. Now I got the same problem. What should I do?

Thanx for the encouraging message on my video! The 49SL MkII is such a beauty, I'm going to make many lovely songs with her.
