X-Station SL (Audio interface, synth, AND automap...epic)
Novation Navigator - Just a mouse, but with the Speed-Dial mounted on it. Maybe even use the scroll wheel as another speed-dial more suitable for faders/sliders. Left clicking and holding a button on a mouse is what makes it feel unnatural and not tactile. Something like this would make it so much more tactile and pleasant. Having the speed-dial on a controller breaks things up into left vs right brain and makes it feel unnatural...you don't tweak a knob on your equipment with both hands.
It really is best to correspond with support queries through the support team email address as it is much more efficient for us to help that way and allows us to help with your problem more quickly.
To answer your question, we recommend a FireWire 400 only, non-combo (i.e. doesn't have USB or FireWire 800 ports aswell) card, with a Texas Instruments or VIA chipset from a known manufacturer such as Belkin, Lacie or SIIG. However, if you do have any further queries or problems, I encourage you to contact us through supportteam@focusrite.com.
Best regards,
Chris
Sorry to hear you are experiencing problems with your Mix Control. Your problems sound like they are related to connection issues rather than the software. The best thing to do is email supportteam@focusrite.com with as much information about your problem and your system as possible. We can look at your problems in detail and help you get up and running as soon as possible.
Best regards,
Chris
