If they can fake the planes in, you can fake the planes out. Cropping a piece of sky from another place in the video and planting it as a stationary foreground layer takes about ten minutes, especially with low resolution footage.

@pbstratocaster nah, it's just a lot closer to the camera. Perspective/parallax makes it look like it's moving super fast. That could be a bug or somebody threw a rock, I don't know, but if you look at the smoke plume frame by frame, you can see it between the smoke and the camera.

The scale of the plane is correct, given the measurements you cited in the description. And that object flying by at 0:24 is a bird or something in the foreground, if you go frame by frame from about :17 on you can see it in the smoke plume.

And FYI, the elctrostatic discharge caused by a Chinook helicopter's crago hook is enough to temporarily flash blind a man, even in daylight. I know from experience. That being said, it is no stretch at all that the static discharge given off by a large passenger airliner would be visible, as well.
