Common opinion about Flymore Nu Metal band varies among a social network remarks, appealing to the group, such as:
- Still stealing riffs from Korn?
- Actually, the band never felt shy for they've been inspired by Korn... I think it's interesting -- they took the best stuff from Korn and made something less boring...
- They may be influenced by Korn, but that doesn't make them a cover band. They might be part of the same kind of genre, but they are still two bands.
- We need a Nu Metal revival! I'm sick of this shit I hear nowadays, you guys keep my hopes up
Thank God there's someone out there keeping Nu alive!
- you are so amazing»...
- Old school rules!!!
- For those who estimate the original Korn to be blown off or got poptized, Flymore reserves a life buoy under the title of Millenium IV V -- the group's first album.
The Flymore band appeared in 2008 after the musicians of a group called Millenium decided to change their name, too ordinary for all styles of music, they thought. The main players in the group were Igor [FLY] Mukhin (lead guitar, music), Denis [CHECK] Rybakov (bass, texts) and Max [FROZT] Morozov (vocal, themes). In early years, been still Millenium, they played Nirvana and RATM covers, experimented with different styles of hard rock, including grunge and even tried punk. Finally the musicians accepted the majesty of Nu Metal and won the prestigious victory on the rock-festival in their native city of Ivanovo (Russia) soon. It wasn't an easy deal since the Nu Metal style still wasn't in honor in Russia at that time. Thus, a door to a growing popularity was opened and a direction was clear now, so they've started finally to move to their dream: to add a big deal to the development of the Nu Metal, which was started by the musicians' favorite band -- by KoЯn.
The name of the group was changed from Millenium to Flymore right before their first official album has been released. The album itself was named Millenium IV V in the memory of the past.
Soon after the name change and the album release group had to change a rhythm guitar as well. Nikita Alekseev went to a Flymore Great Britain tour and became a firm group member since that.
During the British tour the Right Recordings proposed a contract to Flymore under which the company became a distributor of the Millenium IV V in the Great Britain and in Europe.
Next few years Flymore invested in the growth of publicity. Several music videos have been shot, the first of them was a clip to the «All the Time I Bled» song.
At the beginning of 2011 one more change occurred. Sergey Yashin became a new drummer for the band. Since that Flymore's members are:
Igor [FLY] Mukhin - lead guitar, music
Denis [CHECK] Rybakov - bass, texts
Max [FROZT] Morozov - vocal, themes
Nikita Alekseev - rhythm guitar
Sergey Yashin - drumms
In spring of 2011 Flymore has been recognized as the best supporting band to the KoЯn performance in Minsk (Belarus). Their presentation right before the Nu metal founders -- the KoЯn band, was filmed and shown in the documentary "Flymore. Live in Minsk". The film also includes interviews with the musicians and backstage features.
A popularity grows confidently. The new video on the Nothing Personal composition released in autumn 2011 got up in the YouTube top rating instantly.
Being a Russian by birth, Flymore sings in English. This is not to gain a firm popularity abroad. English language in band's songs is also a sign of devotion to the style. Russian language is the best solution for so cold Russian rock style, appeared in St.Petersburg after the Soviet Union collapse, but Nu metal was born in USA in English language and should remain as such, if we pretend to preserve the tradition, Flymore members consider.
Some Russian music commentators remark that Flymore's compositions are saturated with the rigid guitar riffs, have a like-Industrial cyclic structure, vocal is dry, colored with a brutal hoarseness, does impress with its severity. "It reminds Jonathan Davis, - they say, - though, thanks Got, it's not Davis".
The new album will come out in spring 2012. Its compositions differ from the previous album by their brutal sensitivity, guitar drive, wider variations of themes. And still the major principle for the Flymore band is The Nu Metal. It is to preserve and to expand the style in its primordial form. Musicians doesn't plan to use popular music styles like Rap or a modern Dubstep while looking for their own face. They experiment with a «tasty» rock sounds, express a fat energy and a deep emotions with the music, they look for inspiration in a sound density, symmetry of harmony and in the performance quality itself.
