This day I flew KHE for a short flight to get my recency back (3 takeoffs and landings every 90 days {3 months}) before the VCE exams - It was a nice day, CAVOK, however the wind was all over the place, with a croswind of gusts to about 5-10 kts (9 - 18 km/h) You can see the drift I had to apply on takeoff, to the left, and on the landings. The final landing I overcorrected a gust, went off the centerline a bit and the wheel started doing that shopping trolley thing (thats the annoying noise). However all in all, it was a pleasant flight. I'm planning a big one in the next few weeks, down to Wangaratta Aerodrome (YWGT), to get out of Melbourne and on a NAV. Can't wait! (less info)
