@istvanklein Both designs were similar in the same way as a Dc-8 and a 707. That´s it. Simply, designers came t a similar solution. BTW I have flown in a Il-62..... And I have seen and walked aronund a VC-10 in a museum. The Soviet jet has a longer fuselage, and a different wing desiign.

@K1w1scot I love them in spite of its crudeness and I´ll miss them when they are gone. I had the chance to ride in an IL-62 flight deck....what a beautiful experience!!!! I also like their cars!!!!

@talicska It is the nose gear wheels brake and retraction noise. All aircraft make that similar sound after pulling the gear up. BTW I rode once in a Ill-62 cockpit, very similar sounds.

@swingman24 MacArthur has made the Bible an idol. He is a worshiper of the written word and not HIM. The first chapter of the Gospel of John is very clear Who IS the Word, and is a Living Word. Rob Bell may not be perfect but he is honest and humble, something Biblical.

Crackerboxes (love THAT nickname!) were exported to Mexico and were used by Aurrerá supermarkets and Bimbo bakeries as rigids with a towed semi. A non fading childhood memory specially in big cities. They looked very European but the sound was unique. Glad to hear it again. Keep ´em runnin´...
