I heard this song once on the radio in June of 1964 and never heard it again until I recently heard it on Youtube. I doubt there are more than a handful of people who remember this song. It was good to hear it again after all these years.

That sounds similar in the intro to Drag City , Honolulu Lulu, or Surf City by Jan and Dean. Your perception is accurate. It has a strong similarity in style to Jan and Dean throughout the record while Jan and Dean were singing in a surf/drag sound between 1963 and 1964.

@57Will That is absolutely obvious. Either the songwriter was trying to copy or has a very creative memory.

Madonna has made a carreer out of being deliberately obnoxious and she and Rosey are two peas in a pod. Madonna's defense of Roseanne carries absolutely no weight when one considers where it came from. I refuse to even watch Madonna or Roseanne on TV or anywhere else.

They were a great group and would most likely have been more successful if they had not been one of the many acts who were swept off the charts by the "British Invasion".

@camelguy12 This version was recorded on Vee Jay Records, so it had to be recorded in either 1962 or 1963. In early 1964, the Four Seasons switched to Philips Records.
