Divine - Walk Like A Man ( HQ 1080p HD Upscale )
Divine (October 19, 1945 -- March 7, 1988), born Harris Glenn Milstead, was an American actor, singer and drag queen. Described by People magazine as the "Drag Queen of the Century", Divine often performed female roles in both cinema and theater and also appeared in women's clothing in musical performances. Even so, he considered himself to be a character actor and performed male roles in a number of his later films. He was often associated with independent filmmaker John Waters and starred in ten of Waters's films, usually in a leading role. Concurrent with his acting career, he also had a successful career as a disco singer during the 1980s, at one point being described as "the most successful and in-demand disco performer in the world."
In the 1980s, Divine released several dance music records which were club music hits in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia. Divine's records comprised synth-heavy Hi-NRG music, most of it composed, created, performed, and produced by Bobby Orlando. The Stock, Aitken & Waterman-produced song "You Think You're A Man" was Divine's most successful UK hit, reaching #16; the song was also a Top 10 hit in Australia, reaching #8 (thanks in part to a popular promotional tour in that country which included an appearance on the popular Australian music show Countdown.) Among the material Divine released on the Proto label in the United Kingdom was "I'm So Beautiful" (the follow-up single to "You Think You're A Man"), "Walk Like A Man" and "Twistin' the Night Away". These Proto label tracks saw their initial CD release on the "Maid In England" album and compilation of tracks from his Proto catalogue, entitled The Essential Divine, is currently available on iTunes.

Wow this was an extremely difficult video to clean up and upscale. Fabulous for noise, grain and blocky bits. One of the worst ones I have come across. I had to use 2 computers to process this with multiple passes to remove all the 'junk' from the image detail. I removed a lot of it but not all of it. That would have damaged the image detail way too much. Sharpening and scaling was a relatively simple task after the horrendous noise was removed. Am very happy with the final result. Looks great on my HD monitor and so it will look groovy on youtube HD. Audio for this mpg file was amazingly good which is usually not the case in a lot of DVD or mpg files, so I didn't have to touch the audio at all.
This Divine video upload is the best quality you will find on youtube. I hope you enjoy my hard work. Please tell your friends about my channel. Enjoy!

Natalie Cole - Pink Cadillac ( HQ 1080p HD Upscale )
"Pink Cadillac" is a humorous song by Bruce Springsteen which though a minor item in his canon of recorded music was a prominent concert number during Springsteen's 1984-85 Born in the U.S.A. Tour. Like Prince's "Little Red Corvette", "Pink Cadillac" follows the tradition of the Wilson Pickett R&B classic "Mustang Sally" in using automobile travel as a metaphor for sexual activity, particularly as sung by Springsteen as the lyric: "I love you for your pink Cadillac" was originally a veiled pudendal reference. Springsteen, in fact, vetoed the first attempt by a female singer to release a version of "Pink Cadillac", that being Bette Midler in 1983. However "Pink Cadillac" had its highest profile incarnation via an R&B interpretation by Natalie Cole which became Top Ten single in 1988.
In the mid-1980s Natalie Cole recorded "Pink Cadillac" at the suggestion of producer Dennis Lambert; Cole recalls: "I thought to myself, 'I'm too old to be doing this kind of stuff'" "but then I'd never worked with anyone quite like Dennis before. He was very passionate about his work and his enthusiasm gave me the confidence that I could pull the song off." The track was intended for an album release on the Modern label; that project was canceled and Cole's "Pink Cadillac" and another Lambert production: "I Live For Your Love", were picked up by EMI-Manhattan Records to appear on Cole's 1987 album Everlasting. "Pink Cadillac" was released as that album's third single in March 1988, returning Cole to the Top Ten for the first time since 1978 in April 1988 to ascend to a #5 peak - matching Cole's previous Pop chart best with "I've Got Love on My Mind" - that May. Cole's "Pink Cadillac" also reached #9 R&B, #16 A/C and - via a remix by David Cole and Robert Clivilles - #1 on Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. According to Cole, "word got back" to her that Bruce Springsteen "thought it was very cool that a woman could [sing "Pink Cadillac"] and it would come out so great".

The promo vob file I used for this was reasonable quality although dirty with fizz and grain that took at least 3 passes to remove completely. Color and lighting has been corrected and boosted. Detail enhancement and sharpening has been done in the scale to HD resolution. The video looks so much better than the original source. I've very pleased with the outcome.
Audio for this was total rubbish. I had to replace it with a CD track that has been edited and then time compressed to fit the slightly faster video. After running it through a DSP to give it punch it sounds super so turn up that volume knob!
This is the best quality online for this old Natalie Cole video and I hope you enjoy it! :-)
Be aware that some evil people will download my clip restorations, upload them to their own channel and then try to take credit for my hard work. They will even go so far as to say I stole it from them! What goes around comes around and they are storing up some very bad 'karma' for themselves. While I do not own the rights to the music or the videos themselves it is my hard work in restoring these old gems for your enjoyment that is being compromised by any such attempts at smearing my reputation. Eighth Wonder - I'm Not Scared (HQ 1080p HD Upscale)
"I'm Not Scared" is a 1988 song recorded by British pop band Eighth Wonder. It was the first single from the album Fearless and group's fifth single, and was released in 1988. It achieved success in France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and UK, where it was a top ten hit. Written by the Pet Shop Boys, the original version contains several words in French-language. "J'ai pas peur", the B-side of the vinyl, is the French adaptation of "I'm Not Scared". The 12" "disco mix" combines the two versions into one long mix.
Eighth Wonder formed in 1983. Their roots started in a band called Spice. In 1983, Jamie Kensit auditioned his sister Patsy Kensit, then aged 14, for the vacant job of lead singer in his new band. She formed a line-up consisting of herself on vocals, Jamie Kensit and Geoff Beauchamp on guitar, Lawrence Lewis on bass, Jake Walters on drums and Nigel Davis on percussion. Spice made their live debut in autumn 1983, and then spent the next year playing further gigs to gain some attention from record labels.
In late 1984, Nigel Davis left to start the Band 'Slipstream' and Alex Godson a keyboard player, joined the band. They renamed themselves Eighth Wonder and Patsy Kensit began to write songs for the band. Their first gig as Eighth Wonder was in November 1984 in Wimbledon, London and further gigs followed. It was at one of these that Steve Wooley, co-owner of Palace Films, and director Julien Temple offered Patsy Kensit the role of 'Crepe Suzette' in their 1986 film, Absolute Beginners.

I've had a few requests for this and I was reluctant to do it because the only good vob file source for this is incredibly dirty with all kinds of disgusting noise. Believe me when I say to you that it was a bitch to work on. A total bitch. The amount of digital crap in the video was appalling. It took me a couple of days to figure out how to clean up this mess and even then I couldn't get rid of it all. It was so ingrained into the video image that to remove it all would destroy the delicate image detail in many scenes. What couldn't be removed has been greatly reduced. Overall the video image is now beautifully clean and looks almost new. Color and lighting has been tweaked as well. Sharpening and detail enhancement has also been performed in the scale to HD resolution.
Audio wasn't too bad but I didn't like the way it sounded so I replaced it with a better quality digital file. It has been normalized and tweaked to make it sound great so turn up the volume.
This is the best quality online for this great old song and video. Unfortunately it is only watchable in a hand full of countries including Japan and the United States. I'm sorry for the rest of you but there is nothing I can do about it. This is a shame because this is one of my best works. All those that can watch it I hope you enjoy it! :-)

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Two Tribes (Destructo Mix) - HQ 1080p HD Upscale
"Two Tribes" is the second single by Frankie Goes to Hollywood, released in the UK by ZTT Records in May 1984 (see 1984 in music). The song was later included on the album Welcome to the Pleasuredome.
The single was a phenomenal success in the UK, staying at the top of the singles chart for nine consecutive weeks, during which time the group's previous single "Relax" climbed back up the charts to number two. It was the longest running number-one single in the UK between 1978 and 1991.
The single was unable to repeat this success in the United States, where it peaked at number 43.
The Godley & Creme-directed video depicted a wrestling match between then-President Ronald Reagan and then-Soviet leader Konstantin Chernenko for the benefit of group members and an eagerly belligerent assembly of representatives from the world's nations, the event ultimately degenerating into complete global destruction. This video was played several times at the 1984 Democratic National Convention. Due to some violent scenes ("Reagan" biting "Chernenko"'s ear, etc.), the unedited video could not be shown on MTV, and an edited version was substituted.
A longer version of the video (based on the "Hibakusha" mix) included an introductory cut-up monologue by Richard Nixon taken from an ad from his 1960 US Presidential campaign ("No.. firm diplomacy... No.. peace for America and the world"), plus similar contributions from other world leaders, including Lord Beaverbrook, Yasser Arafat and John F. Kennedy. The complete soundtrack to the extended video was eventually released as "Two Tribes (Video Destructo)" on the German version of the Twelve Inches compilation. A third version of the video, included on the band's compilation of videos, retains the introduction, but loses most of the inserted clips in the main wrestling sequence.

I did not have a copy of this video even though I've been trying to get a copy of it. A fellow youtube user who has a channel dedicated to Frankie Goes To Hollywood called PlanetFrankieHD, saw the work I did on the short version of Two Tribes and asked me to do the same for the Destructo Mix Video and upload it so everyone can enjoy it.
After obtaining a copy of the Destructo video mix from PlanetFrankieHD I found the quality of the file was less than the quality of the source for the short version of Two Tribes. The better the quality the better the results will be. I can't magic up detail that just isn't there to begin with. I danced through some hoops to get this to a nice watchable level similar to the short version of Two Tribes. Not as good obviously but close enough.
Most of the fizzy, grainy noise and digital junk has been zapped away. What's left you won't notice. I had to be careful to preserve as much image detail as possible since this wasn't the best quality and inferior to the source for the shorter version of Two Tribes. This denoising process took 3 attempts to work out and then 2 passes to zap most of the junk away, with each stage about 4 hours in length. I'm pleased with the end results when I compare it to the original image. Colors and lighting has been corrected with some detail enhancement and sharpening performed during scaling to HD resolution.
Audio for this video freaked me out a little. It had three audio tracks inside. Dolby Digital 2 channel Stereo and 5.1 surround as well as 6 channel DTS sound. All of them sucked to some degree. I couldn't believe my ears. The DTS track was the best of the lot and fairly reasonable but it just sounded like a good quality stereo cassette tape. I can't believe they released this to the public. Someone deserves to be shot. To make matters worse I checked the CD I have for the Two Tribes mixes and the Destructo Mix is on there, but after listening carefully to the quality of the CD and the vob file I found they sound almost the same. Looks suspiciously like someone used a video track and dumped it onto the CD for release. If that's the case then I'm not impressed. Lazy, shoddy work and the public is supposed to buy this? Well I've taken the audio completely to task. It's a total remaster and I've spent quite a few hours on it. What's included with this video is much better than the crappy audio on all 3 tracks of the vob file and on the released CD.
My thanks to youtube channel 'PlanetFrankieHD' for letting me have a copy of the vob source file that allowed me to restore some quality to this video so that you can enjoy it.
Don't forget to pay that channel a visit for all things Frankie. You might find a few surprises!
