Keith Douglas is a mayoral candidate on the Gold Coast at the forthcoming elections on 31 March 2012 and stepped down as Spokesman for Marine Action Group Inc which represents the interests of people who boat, fish, dive and jet-ski. Keith in 2010 was also a senate candidate for the Australian Lifestyle and Fishing Party and was runner-up - 1 step away from a senate position. His efforts to promote science over spin when considering marine parks has had an influence on the decision by the federal government not to proceed with the Fraser Coast marine park and the Tweed/Byron marine park.
