BTW it's not harmonically 'incorrect' to play d natural, since it spells a V7 chord (Bb - D - F - Ab) that resolves on Eb at measure 15. Not many things could be more harmonically or...

@PSNDemonwing Because the F makes a 9th with the Eb on bass, which creates more tension, drama and dissonance than a G would have. You need a dissonant dominant chord here, which will eventually resolve with the return of the theme in the key of Ab after the cadenza.

@TheBueno789 It's because it doesn't hurt YET, but you know it will if you don't spin and take the fall. In the dojo, everyone knows the technique and the fall, and so no one gets hurt. In a real fight, these techniques could seriously mess up someone's arm.

Well, when you practice aikido, you get thrown around quite a bit. So learning how to fall (it's called ukemi) is definitely a most valuable skill to master...

@DrummermanMatt Yes, in aikido the would-be aggressor is cooperating with the fall, for the simple reason that it would be unbelievably painful NOT to do so. That way, nobody gets hurt.
