First Weekend Club

First Weekend Club is a national, non-profit organization that is dedicated to builds audiences for, and awareness of great Canadian films. We are called First Weekend Club because that first weekend of a films theatrical release is critical. If it does well at the box office those first three days, then it will have a longer life and reach larger audiences.

First Weekend Club started in February 2003 and has supported over 150 Canadian films. Now, we are moving into the online world and aim to create a Video-on-Demand streaming platform with a curated library of the best in Canadian cinema.

First Weekend Club works collaboratively with distributors, exhibitors, filmmakers and publicists towards this common goal.

We want you to fall in love with Canadian Films. (There really are some great home-growns out there!)
