I am a practicing Muslim concerned with the intellectual stagnation of my community principally caused by the modern (western) education system and 'over-fundemental' Islam.

I am an Islamist who believes that Islam is not well-understood by most Muslims and non-Muslims alike. However, I don't call for change until I have changed myself.

I believe the information technology revolution has been counterproductive for the whole world. I don't make videos or tapes to boast my ego. I believe, the best invitaton to an idea is through actions and reasoned words (preferrable written).

I hate Intellectual Incest (only reading certain authors or philosophical viewpoints), forming movements or being identified with groups.

However, I practise Islam through the understanding of the Shafi School of Jurisprudence and have the belief of the Ahl Sunna (Ashari). I am born in London, but now live in Sudan. I am a pologynist.
