I do NOT endorse every teaching of the preachers and others I put on here, but there is much truth that should be applied to our lives. Just spit out the bones. Salvation is of Jesus alone, and by Jesus alone. Being dunked in water does not bring one into contact with the Blood of Jesus, but faith and repentance does.
The modern-day gospel is perverted. T.V., radio, and most churches will only say "Jesus loves you." That is true (Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.), but that is not the only attribute of God. Ps 7:11b God is angry with the wicked every day. Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Nahum 1:2-6 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
If you've EVER told a lie, stolen anything, used God's name in vain, or even looked at another with lust, on Judgment Day God shall see you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 1 Cor 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
We all deserve to go to hell (Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God). But due to God's love He gave us a way out. God Himself came to earth in the man of Jesus to life a sinless life and took our place on the Cross (Heb 9:22b without shedding of blood is no remission). Works will never get one to heaven (Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast., Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.) We can be reconciled to God if we'll believe that Jesus is God and the only way to heaven (Jn 1:1,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. Jn14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.), confess that we are sinners (1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1Jn 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.), repent (change your mind about your sinful state before the Lord) (Lk 13:3b except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.), and live for Him (Lk 14:26-27 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. Heb 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. Mt 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. Ezek 18:24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.), God will save us from ourselves and the wrath that is to come.
