Not only German forces. Forces from Italy,Romania, Finland, Estonia and Poland were fighting alongside the Vermacht. UUSR faced half of Europe and won.

It seems you forget 2 major things.

1)War was started by USSR, indeed, but it was after Finland refused to trade some of it's land (those who lies near Leningrad) to Karelia. That was a crucial condition, cause war was near and Rea Army needed to bring safety to USSR's second capital.And USSR too...

I want normal basic infantry for the Soviets. Ak that is less effective that shortgun - that is something unacceptable.

No offence, but you suck playing Soviet. You don't have to make them use Mines all the time. Espesially when you are facing enemy anti-infantry units. Flak can do the job even better.

IMHO mines are pretty useless ability - minimal range, low damage.
