I saw American Repertory Theatre's Cabaret last week, which was mindblowing. It's awesome seeing all these cool people singing the songs on youtube, but this particular one might as well have been written for Amanda Palmer (the Emcee in the A.R.T. show.)

I think we're "programmed" to trust what we see when people speak because there are differences in pronunciation and sometimes sound interference. Using our sight to augment our hearing helps us communicate more effectively.
