Manchester International Arts and Streets Ahead Events present the final FEAST!, three days of free performance from Britain and abroad around the picturesque lake in Platt Fields Park, Manchester. The international programme featured companies from Germany, Belgium, France, India and Egypt as well as leading acts from the UK with a number of world premieres. Highlights included Indian circus, Egyptian music and Eastern European rhythms, French comedy, fire-blazing tango, spectacular acrobatics and dreamy evening illuminations.

Giant, distinctive and exotic, FEAST! is a popular event. Each yearly festival has boasted its own unique moments with picknickers revelling in the surroundings, pitching up around the lake, on the hills and banks and under trees. As evening draws in, candles and nightlights appear amongst the banners, flags and decorations. Games, workshops and activities are on offer for all ages to delve into, and Friday and Saturday evening will culminate with a special and dazzling finale.

After 21 years of presenting some of the most extraordinary and well-loved festivals and special events, FEAST! 2009 brings the Streets Ahead work in Manchester to an end for the foreseeable future. But look at the fun we had!!!!

We will continue to bring top class international acts to the region so keep in touch with our projects via our website and newsletter and have a look at the programme planned with the phenomenally successful Lakes Alive festival for the next four years!
