Ferrets have been domesticated for thousands of years.In ancient Egypt, people kept tame ferrets as pets and rodent hunters.
A group of ferrets is called a business.
Ferrets are not rodents. They are not in the Order Rodentia they are in Carnivora and the Mustelidae family just like otters, badgers and weasels!
Ferrets are currently the third most popular pet in the US. There are an estimated eight to ten million ferrets in the United States being kept as pets.
Ferrets are illegal in both California and New York.

whether exotic animals make good pets is a matter of opinion and will vary from person to person. I think the real question is, not do exotic animals make good pets, but do I make a good exotic animal owner.
Exotic animals require lots patience and dedication but when done responsibly is extremely rewarding.
Please oppose exotic pet bans and fight for fair reasonable regulations :)
