FILM REVIEW -"The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" [R 12] - This is something along the lines of "Shirley Valentine" but no where near as daft as it.A very lukewarm slow-burning story-line is heavily compensated by exraordinary performances from a distinguished cast.Judi Dench is her usual charming brilliant self and standout performances by Bill Nighy and Penelope Wilton; Maggie Smith is also worth mentioning.This easy going no surprises feel good movie is targeted towards a mature elderly audience and the performances alone are worth watching.-7/10-Denis. **CHECK OUT "THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL-TRAILER" IN "FAVOURITES" SECTION OF THIS CHANNEL ^ABOVE^**

FILM REVIEW -"Safe House" [R 15] - This is your regular *run of the mill* average thriller with no major twists or turns or surprises,and a relatively straight forward story even if it is *up in the air* from time to time; that said it is relatively entertaining.Denzel Washington gives his usual incredible performance but its Ryan Reynolds who makes this movie worth watching as he delivers a jaw dropping extraordinary performance - I never took any notice or rated him as a good actor before.Relatively good performance also from Brendan Gleeson whos normally painful to watch. -7/10-Denis. **CHECK OUT "SAFE HOUSE-TRAILER" IN "FAVOURITES" SECTION OF THIS CHANNEL ^ABOVE^**

FILM REVIEW - "One For The Money" [R 12] - This is something along the lines of "The Bounty Hunter" 2010 Jennifer Aniston movie but not even remotely close to being as good and even "The Bounty Hunter" was nothing the write home about.This is "Cagney And Lacey"-gone wrong meets the terrible 1987 Madonna movie "Whos That Girl?". Katherine Heigl has stared in some very good movies in recent years (with the exception of the terrible "The Killers" with Ashton Kutcher) and its a pity and slightly worrying that one of the top actresses in Hollywood at the moment would agree to star in such a shit movie like this.continued next comment...

"One For The Movie"continued...The movie starts off really well with great characters like Katherine Heigls grandmother and the two black girls on the street but the movie just gets shitty as it goes along and towards the end *who did what to who?*-who cares? and Katherine Heigls dumb performance throughout which beggars belief towards the end falls completely flat.The only redeeming factor is Katherine Heigl looks good..especially in the shower scene. -5/10-Denis. **CHECK OUT "ONE FOR THE MONEY-TRAILER" IN "FAVOURITES" SECTION OF THIS CHANNEL ^ABOVE^**

FIM REVIEW-"Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close" [R 12]-You`ll either get this movie ot you`ll throw your eyes up to heaven at it.From the director of "The Hours" and "The Reaer" Stephen Daldry,this is much better than those movies which lets face it,wouldn`t be difficult to achieve.This movie relies heavily on top notch performances with which the exception of the old man (Max von Sydow) who accompanies the boy on his adventures and Viola Davis-"The Help" the rest of the actors just don`t do it.Thank God the Tom Hanks character is only in the movie for five-ten minutes because for the short length of time he`s in the movie,he delivers the most painful cringe-worthy performance imaginable..no..you couldn`t even imagine it; he`s just horrific taking the piss is the only explaination why he gives *the rotten tomato throwing* worthy performance and it beggars belief how he gets away with it.Continued next comment..

"Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close"continued..Sandra Bullock delivers an only OK-ish performance and fails to play the part of a grive-stricken widow to its full potential; For example-in one scene,her character is in bed with alot of emotional pain and she just looks way too glamorous with way too much make-up on whereas her character would have been more believable if she didn`t have any make-up on with blood-shot eyes and grey roots.The young boy Thomas Horn delivers a relatively good performance and pulls it out of the hat towards the end but for a part this big and a movie that requires raw believable emotion,he lacks big time on a knockout jaw-dropping acting ability of Haley Joel Osmond-Sixth Sense,Artificial Intelligence.Continued next comment..

"Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close"continued..This movie itself is very sickly sentimental (well,it does feature Tom Hanks) but overall it is watchable.The conclusion at the end of the boys mysterious journey after a big build up falls slightly flat but theres a nice effective scene towards the end where Sanra Bullock discovers a journal with touching illustrations that the boy has been keeping. -7/10- Denis. **CHECK OUT "EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE-TRAILER" IN "FAVOURITES" SECTION OF THIS CHANNEL ^ABOVE^**

FILM REVIEW-"Carnage" [R 15]-Directed by Roman Polanski,You`d be forgiven for thinking this is a Woody Allen movie.The film starts off really well and is really intriguing,but as it moves along,it becomes OTT,ludicrous and ridiculous.All of the characters become OTT as the movie progresses but great performances all round.The banter between the two male characters (John C.Reilly and Christoph Waltz) works and is extremely funny throughout; and when the movie goes slightly pairshapped,Jodie Fosters performance compensates for this and she gives one of the top five performances of her career while Kate Winslet plays the exact same character she plays in every movie shes in.Continued next comment...
