My good friend Clay Conner, a luthier based in Raleigh NC, allowed me to spend some time with this beautiful instrument he built named the "504". The pictures and video really don't do it justice. It perfectly spans the gap between solid body guitars like Strats and Les Pauls, with larger-sized semi hollow body 335 style guitars. You'll find the tone character to be much more complex then many modern built electrics. Clay hand winds his own pickups for his builds, and this 504 has mini humbuckers that have a warm full sound, but retain a pure clarity at the same time. The hardware, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are top notch! I love this guitar!

- Korina body with flame Koa top inlayed into the 2 chamber body
- One piece Maple neck with graphite reinforcement for super strength
- Macassar Ebony fretboard and tail piece
- 25.5" scale, 16" radius with medium fretwire and bone nut
- Hand wound Alnico 3 mini humbuckers
- Gotoh 510 tuning pegs with sealed gear housings
- $3250 (as of May 2011 when this video was made)
