Rachelle: The Rock Chic

I've always been into music...

I started singing when I was three. My folks let me sing along to Sharon Cuneta hits during my early years. They would let me sing in birthday parties, school events, even in our chapel where I became a choir member for years. Then I entered singing competitions, too.

I remember singing Disney songs like those in the movies like Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and others, most especially The Little mermaid. I would write the lyrics of the songs from my fave TV shows, Hiraya Manawari and Bayani, which I had to see four episodes before I could complete the songs.

I listened and adored the Eraserheads since second grade throughout elementary. Then I got obsessed with Gil Ofarim, The Moffatts and Hanson.

Then, came my hero - Britney Spears, whose been my top artist since sixth grade until now!

Rock music has always been my thing, but I prefer just Pop/Rock and Alternative. I loved Michelle Branch, Avril Lavigne, Evanescence, Alanis Morissette and Jewel for these types of music.

In college, I got hooked up with OPM Rock like Imago, Paramita, even M.Y.M.P. and Nina. They were perfect to perform with my dear Voices organization.

Right now, I'm fond of Vanessa Hudgens, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. The High School Musical soundtrack is the top play list on my MP3 followed by Camp Rock and Hannah Montana songs. Guess music brought me back to my Disney addiction.

I tried to play musical instruments before, but I've realized that playing wasn't meant for me. When I saw the "music genius" of Voices, I thought I've got a long, long way before I could actually handle a guitar.

But whether it's just singing or listening to good music... and whatever genre it may be... Music and I are inseparable... That, at least, is for sure...
