not much to say, other than i used to play a really bad game called runescape, at one point when i played, about 2 years ago the game was good, nobody was over rich, except people who owned party hats and halloween masks, from before, then the wilderness was taken away, which led to riots during the game, with many people quitting on the spot. a new form of player vs player was brought about, called bounty hunter, many people lost a lot of items, as it was not clear what the rules of it were when it was first opened, very quickly, more and more godswords were brought and generated into the game so that meant more were used in bounty hunter, and the pickup penalty meant u couldnt keep it.

sad fucking loser clans decided to start up these lures which got people with many millions of gp swords penaltied near the middle of the crater, and then killed them, making them lose the godswords that they worked so hard to own.apart from that, and rushers, who never turn off they protect melee prayers, times were getting better, previous to the bounty hunter update, the granx exchange was released which saw individuals or groups get extremely rich at the expense of others, this was the start of wholescale merchanting.

on the 15th of october, 2008, pvp was brought into the game. the whole map of runescape was a battlefield with some areas more dangerous than others. not only did this update freeze every single pvp related item on the ge, making it impossible to buy them, but it also crashed ever expensive item. the new system meant that as long as u were risking 75k+, u could get a drop, and u had to have earned potential to get one, 30 minutes of a fire-zone in a pvp world meant 25 ep, 25 ep was good enough to do 2 drops and get decent loots, people, as they r human, disgusting and greedy, started to abuse the system, by finding ways to get ep, in a fire zone, without any effort, such as wind striking each other, for 30 minutes, then killing each other twice, making a lot of money. no matter what jagex did to stop this, they always found a way to get the ep.

the update of pvp also meant that as long as the opponent was risking 25k+, a massive drop could b achieved by dropping them, with many people tricking for hours per day, getting the best possible item, which was a dragonfire shield. other items such as dragon hatchets, berserker rings, amulets of furies, dark bows, dragon weapons and new special pvp armour and weapons were included in these drops. this meant that doing previosly hard and time consuming monster hunting was thrown away with people just ditching it to get a chance at a big drop in pvp, with very little effort, and large outcome.

this crashed all items, such as an amulet of fury that went from about 8m, to about 2m. this meant that everyone in the game was getting much richer, without any effort and all so fast, so eveyrything started seeming cheaper, such as sharks, or rune sets, so people would have more spare cash, so they would cause inflation to make basics cost up to 150% more than before. this was only for pvp users, so the normal folk of runescape suffered, as it is in an society, the poor always suffer, the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. people started to catch onto this and a few merchanting clans started up, which led to large scale inflation.

merchant clans were basically a rich group of individuals, maybe 4 or 5, with about 100m each, stocking up on 100m worth of an item, then a few days later, once they have it all, telling a load of really shit crap poor noobs with about 500k banks to buy as many of the item as they could, this meant the item was rising, and the rich people got much richer, and the poor got richer, and then when the rich crashed all their items, the poor suddenly got richer, and were left holding onto a load of shitty useless unsellable items, while the nerdy 4 or 5 individuals would roll in the cash that they had made, and go and buy a party hat or some other pointless item.

so people got the idea, the poor remaind poor, and the richer got utterly richer, many smaller rubbish clans merchanting lots of small items, random items of rubbish and no use, but just to rise the price, and make the top 5 rich, and the rest poor.

i myself never took part in this merchanting crap, i would just observe and laugh and wonder why the fuck those downie fucked up freaks lvl 90 were spending their 500k bank over and over, they never learnt. they continued to make the richer much much ricer, and themselves poorer.

ever since the grand exchange update, everything went downhill from there from the start of merchanters, to the lurers, and 26k tricking. i remember the days when it was very very hard to get something like 43 prayer, as it was so expensive, now its, whenever ur feeling bord enough, u can blow 400k on it, and use some 99 construction nerds altar, who only got 99 construction because of pvp tricking, or merhchanting.
