Pointing is an art, 1st - you have to feed some birds at different times, around 1 hour apart. Then time them till some start showing aggression. At that point, mark time down & spar the ones showing aggression. All birds have different point times, so long before you show a set, you should try to point them. I do it 3 to 4 months before actually putting them in keep, so I know each ones pointing time. I record that info. for when they go into keep. We keep a list of breeds, various bird's wing #s, prime pointing times. So when we go to a big show, we know just how to feed & keep them coming to point. It is always good to show birds climbing or at prime point, but never over. Their focus, timing, speed & power are demenist(bad), when their over. Once your timing is set, to keep birds from going over, give them 5 cooked & drained rice or around the same amount of egg whites, pieces about every hour or two, just to keep them from going over point. Let me know how you are doing.
