Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting my channel! ♫
I'm an IB student, from Greece, and I really love to play the piano! I've had lessons since I was seven, but I always mostly liked to play "my own stuff" (pieces others than what I have to study, improvizations and my own compositions), although classical music keeps being one of my favourite genres. A couple of years ago I decided to start teaching myself how to play the guitar as well. I still have waaaaaaay to go with guitar playing, but it really turned out to grow on me!
And occasionally, when no pianos and guitars are nearby, I try to approach music through singing! ♪
As Maya Angelou once said, "Music is my refuge", when all else fails...
I listen to all kinds of music: Classic rock, Hard rock, some Metal and Heavy Metal, just a little bit of pop (but as time goes by it keeps getting worse) and a little punk, and just a bit of Gothic. Music from movies and musicals is also something I really enjoy - especially the music from "Rent" ♥ ... I also LOVE classical music (Beethoven, Rachmaninnov, Liszt, Chopin, a bit of Mozart, Gershwin, (he's not exactly "classical but whatever) and some others. I must say that Beethoven is one of my greatest inspirations!
My favorite band is Kansas! I truly believe that they are one of the best bands ever, though they haven't gained the recognition they deserved.... I love them anyway! I think the band members there are truly Musicians; they are very creative and talented (hear their songs like Carry On Wayward Son - check out the solo keyboards there-and you'll know what I mean)! I also like the fact that they use all these different instruments in their songs! It's like they combine classical and rock music together (that's the true CLASSIC rock, guys!! :-P)
By the way, I suggest you listened some songs of them! If you haven't ever heard Dust In The Wind (which I doubt you don't know), be sure to listen to it!! Carry On Wayward Son, Hold On, Closet Chronicles, Death of Mother Nature Suite, No One Together, Play the Game Tonight and many many more are really worth listening to...
So, some other bands and artists I really like are Queen, Scorpions, Guns'n'Roses, Avenged Sevenfold, Carlos Santana, Robbie Williams, Gary Moore, Frank Sinatra, Joan Baez, Alice Cooper and a lot lot more artists it'd take a day to refer to (Sorry for mixing all these completely different names in the same list!!!)
In any case, I alwats try not to be prejudiced when it comes to music. I'm very open-minded when it comes to this subject. For example, for a lot of years I used to say "Oh, punk? No, I don't like it! It has no melody at all and most of the artists aren't even talented!!!". But then I heard some songs of Punk groups like Bad Religion, and I found them OK! Actually, I really liked them! The same with Iron Maiden, I thought they were "too hard' for me. Until I realized I hadn't really listened to them! So, when I did, I found out that they really suited me!
That's what I suggest YOU to do, too. Don't have biases for music! You never know until you listen to a song, if you like it or not! ♫
Apart from music, I really enjoy carrying out experiments! When I finish school, I want to study Chemistry and become a researcher!
My favorite molecule is Calcium Hydroxide ♥ Ca(OH)2 ♥ (bet you were dying to learn that... :-P)
