Who's never heard the best wine is the oldest one, aging in oak barrels? Who's never gone down for not hearing the advise of the elders? That's it folks. It takes the distance. You've got to go through it to come to your senses. You've got to hit the road. That's not different in music. Sérgio Rocha (guitar and vocals), Fábio Mesquita (bass) and Beto Werther (drums and vocals) are three Brazilian blues men who have come to their age of reason, and now accomplished the maturity of their musical blend. They share an outstanding fruition and despite all had been thorough different paths, now they ride on the same road. Até o fim da estrada (Till the end of the road) is fairly the name of Blues Power Trio second album -- released under Bluestime Records label. The material was expected anxiously in the Brazilian blues scene. "In this CD we used the recording studio as a much more intense factor than in the first album", remarks Fábio Mesquita. Since their origin, in 1998, Blues Power stands out for their power of interpreting. Now, after eight years playing together, the three musicians dispense quality in music making as they line up in a perfect balance. The idea of a blues and rock based power trio becomes clearer after each day. So we can hear when we listen the album title track. "Até o fim da estrada is our tour de force; it talks about how we persevere and how it is difficult to make a living on music in Brazil. On the other hand it also talks about our happiness to move on, against all odds, because we know this is our way. We can't return." Declares guitarist Sérgio Rocha. Southern Rock influences taken from bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Allman Brothers, as well as from power trios such as Gov't Mule and the legendary Cream can be felt on through the tracks. Everything filled with a Jimi Hendrix scent to give the album its well-balanced blues-rock taste. The track "Blue-eyed Blues" features Greg Wilson and Otávio Rocha, the two Blues Etílicos guitarists. "Besides their presence, we use different guitar tunings. That I believe makes one of the highest outcomes of this album", states Sérgio, who is also responsible for the new shape given to the Rolling Stones classic "Harlem Shuffle" that became the opening track to Até o fim da estrada. All the tracks were put together between March and April 2006, in the Making Of Studio. Since the album release the band has hit the road and everybody can check the best performances available for mp3 download in the official band site.
